  „Discovering the world“
Born in 1986, Rahel describes herself as an active person who always has to be doing something. No Surprise that she tried out ballet, football, tennis and apparatus gymnastics befor she started racing. Her father, a former race driver, put her in a Go-Kart at the age of 12 as a birthday present. Luckily Rahel left her brother in her wake this day and started her motorsport career as a result. Beside the Swiss power girl attended elementaryl school until 2001, she upper grades in grammar school until 2006 and certificated for A‐ levels in 2006 - „school was never my first priority, but my Mum didn‘t allowed racing if I didn‘t well there - today I know she was right too!“

1998 - 2004

  „Starting the engine“
„I always dreamed to get a aircraft pilot. Today I say I‘m as well a pilot taking control of a cockpit on four wheels.“ As a kid she dreamed to join the Swiss army and getting a professional helicopter pilot. But she gave up this dream while progressing well in Karting. Rahel started first in national races before she made the step to the internationals. The surrounding got to know her quickly as she was always competitiv, always on the podium of the generall classement in the second year of taking part in a category. „I always ha the abillity to addapt myself quickly to a new challenge, new chassis, new engine or a new race track. This made life of my mostly male competitors never easy.“ At the end of 2004 the blondie got a phone call to do a test in a single seater formula car, which gave her the great opportunity to move form Karting to automobil racing sport.

2004 - 2006

„Rahel takes to the international stage“
The start in her automobil racing sport career Rahel will never forget! The first race she took part in the Formula Renault 2.0 in 2004 she was third and the seconde race of the weekend she won! Two podiums at her first ever automobil racing weekend, the easter weekend 04, showed again her great abillity to addapt really quickly to a new challenge. The newspaper headline afterwards was: „Ach Du dickes Osterei“ in english like „good heavens“. The Swiss girl finished 4th overall in the Swiss Formula Renault 2.0 in 2004 and 3th overall in 2005. In 2006 she takes to the international stage taking part at the Italien and European Formula Renault 2.0 Championship.

2007 - 2009

„The journey is the reward and Rahel writes history“
Rahel believes that hard work always pays off thats why she always follows her motto: „go fast and never ever give up!“ In the three years fom 07 till 09, the power girl had lots of up and downs. Moving from Formula Renault 2.0 to the international Formula Masters in 07. A new series builded up in the program of the WTCC, Rahel showed again her pace but was often stoped by technical defects. Beeing seconde in the race in Pau before the engine exploded or being third in the race of Oschersleben before the electronic failed, she learnt to be patiente and keep on fighting. This mentality was payed back by a first successful DTM Test for Audi at the end of 07. Due to this test Rahel got in contact with Volkswagen, driving Formula 3 in 2008 for the german brand VW. But the first year in Formula 3 was the most difficult year for Rahel like she says not feeling well realted to the car and to the team. For 2009 she changed her concept. Changing team and the surrounding and goming back to the successful road as proofed with a podium in Oschersleben and a victory on the Nürburgring as first femal driver ever winning a Formaula 3 race! Unfortunately Rahel had to stop the season after four races because a sponsor broke the appointment.

  „Endurance will always be rewarded“
As the Swiss girl couldn‘t find the demanded sponsor budget to continue her career in single seater formula cars, she was open for new challenges. And found them with driving the well known 24 Hour race of Le Mans with two other Swiss girls on a Ford GT. Beside Rahel was invited by Volkswagen to do guest starts in the Scirocco R Cup. This opportunity Rahel took with pleasure, coming back to the VW concern, as she like to give something back to people or companies which helped to survive as a girl in this men‘s world motorsport. „We always have to give something to get something back“, she says. At the end of 2010 a second test for Audi in the DTM followed - which she passed sucessfully.

2011 - 2012

  „Going to the top“
At the beginning of 2011 a dream came true for Rahel as she got her first contract to become a professional race driver competing for Audi in the DTM. In the first year she drove for Audi Sport Team Phoenix and in 2012 she competed for Audi Sport Team Abt. The blondie was the first femal diver for Audi who got points in the championship, finished 7th in Valencia. „In this two year in DTM I learned a lot and grewed as a professional race driver. This experience and hard fight on the top level will help me for my future and my life in general. I always look forward to new challenges - so I will always go fast and never ever give up!“
